How would you prepare yourself for the exam? How would you study? How would you set your SMART goal? How would you improve your memory power? – these are some the queries most of the candidates always ask.
Invest your time wisely now by reading each tip I’m going to discuss. The tips have been made very easy to understand and apply for CBSE NEET exam.
Tip #1: Know the Exam You are Going to Appear (Pattern, Papers & Others)
Your first and foremost thing before appearing for the NEET 2018 is to collect information about the exam. You might have heard from your teachers, friends, parents or other sources about the exam but you need to collect more and more information.
Find out what is the eligibility criteria to sit for the exam. There will be always a specific column for the eligibility criteria which include a minimum age, qualification, and other information to check your eligibility.
Understand the pattern of the exam and the paper. Some exams have the only descriptive type of questions, some may have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and some exams may have both the types of questions.
The best way to do this is to collect a previous year’s question papers to get the complete ideas.
Tip #2: Focus on Only One Activity at a Time
By focusing to a single point through a magnifying lens under the bright sunshine you can create fire and burn whatever you want. Similarly focusing on one activity or a single goal you can achieve anything. Ask the question to yourself, “What do I need to focus?” before filling the NEET Application Form. Taking the right preparation and passing the exam should be your only point to be focused.
Tip #3: Learn Two Tired Approach of Studying
Steve Houseworth explained one of the best study strategies, which he named as the two-tiered approach. According to this approach, you study alone at first and study with others afterward.
During the first phase, carefully review your notes and the textbook, perhaps creating flashcards to help you remember definitions, theories, and other important material. Then, once you feel confident of the material, study with one or more classmates.
This kind of studying is highly effective, because it allows others to pick up the material, thereby exposing gaps in your knowledge (just as an exam does). Moreover, if the questions your fellow classmates ask are comparable in difficulty to exam questions, you’ll be able to estimate your performance on the upcoming exam.
Tip #4: Solve Previous Year’s Question Papers
Solving the previous years’ question papers is one of the best strategies in any competitive exam. It is very important to understand the pattern of the question papers and the trend of questions came in last few years.
Some questions are always repeated. These questions are very easy to solve. You can save time in doing these and use this saved time in answering the difficult questions.
If you try to solve at least previous five years’ question papers, this will give you confidence and boost yourself to be ready for the questions which you will be attempting in the forthcoming exam.
